WTF WSCH? Where was "Big Ol' Fish", that was supposed to show Dylan?

I am pissed as hell this morning.

Bill got his "this will be on Sunday" picture of our grandson, Dylan, with his first fish of the year. Like most grandparents, we shared around that this would be Dylan's time to shine, holding up his first fish on "Big Ol' Fish". We actually got onto the "Big Ol' Fish" Facebook Page to share when it would show up there, as they typically post the pictures on Monday.

Then, we got up early, made coffee, and sat down to watch Dylan on "Big Ol' Fish".....

They didn't show "Big Ol' Fish" for the first three-quarters of the two hours that they're on, preferring to share "Beach to Beacon" repeatedly because THEIR team (like many of the other tv stations) ran in it yesterday....

So I got pissed off, left them this post on my Timeline, and went into the shower.

They played "Big Ol' Fish" at 7:45 this morning, as I was in the shower, and my husband told me "You missed it".

*grumble*

NOW I have to wait for the Big Ol' Fish to post tomorrow to be able to even SEE my grandson...

*grumbles some more*

Thank you, WSCH 6. I wanted this to be THIS DIFFICULT!

*grumbles and throws a few things*

"He's not MY President!"

Trump had what I call "His last dance" yesterday: He met up with Putin.

This was the result:

1) Trump put down EVERYTHING that America has done.

2) Trump has all but knelt to worship Putin.

3) Trump should NOT be considered as America's President.

The reasons behind this?

NOTHING WE AMERICANS DO IS RIGHT ACCORDING TO TRUMP AND WE'RE GOING TO HELL IN A HANDBASKET, SO GET OUT YOUR MONEY AND GO WITH THE BIGGEST BANG!

Idiot.

If this is YOUR way of thinking, there's the door, and don't let it "git you where the Lord split you" on the way out......

I voted for Bernie Sanders, even writing him in when the DNC told me I wasn't supposed to, and was "not considered viable" even as the Republicans stumped up the Electoral College and VOTED TRUMP IN EVEN THOUGH HE DIDN'T WIN THE POPULAR VOTE!

(I'm considered by my own "tribe" to be a little off, so I doubt he'll actually read my blog....or consider it worth his mighty narcissist behavior, but YOU, PRESIDENT TRUMP, CAME IN ONLY ON THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE VOTE AND WEREN'T OFFICIALLY "ELECTED" BY THE PEOPLE. So THERE!)

There are those who would list off everything Trump has done.

What HASN'T he done?

Seriously, WHAT HASN'T HE DONE?

He made his cabinet from his sponsors, so we don't have an EPA, or DHHS, or ANY of the things we expected to still have. The poor have gotten poorer and the rich have gotten richer. The 1% have gotten EVERYTHING.

THIS is where we stand:

VOTE OFTEN!

VOTE VIGOROUSLY!

VOTE AS IF YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT, BECAUSE IT DOES!

Posting Bail

It's Friday the 13th.

Bad stuff should be happening.

Meh.

The worst I've had is that I can't find the kind of vent to change out that one that can't hold his own after twenty years of being trod on......

Poor vent.

It wasn't you that had the desire to be placed in a doorway where you were the only vent between upstairs and down. It wasn't you who changed the house around to where you looked good - for a time - but slowly became nothing but a stop for dog fur that gathers there, where nothing goes right...

And it wasn't your heel that started the run for the money, making the lump that effects how you behave, whether it's effecting how "closed" the bedroom door can be or innocently biding it's time for the next time we attempt to close the door....

*sigh*

BUT

(or does that have to t's, to make it BUTT....)

The garden is between being weeded and the start of the next weeding. (Farmers would know what I'm talking about.)

The house is at a "place of rest", while it contemplates how many things we've taken to the dump, offered for free in our yard, or taken to a thrift store. No matter how many times I've been through this house, it seems to offer more to get.....except for the heirlooms that seem to flock to my door from everywhere.

Happy Friday the 13th.

Speech Therapy, The Gardens, and All Else

On my doctor visit last week (mostly to talk about my "health issues" and line me up for a few things before we meet again August 6 for the "physical"), he discussed Speech Therapy. Now, as a cancer survivor, I can join at the Dempsey Center for free or I can wait for him...

Part of me wants to join the Dempsey Center, which gives the classes to cancer victims and survivors for free (which the "Dempsey Challenge" provides for) and, if I'm successful, I can get into the running/walking race if I take Yoga as well as Speech. The only thing is whether or not they're doing Yoga and Speech in the mornings...

Or I can wait for the EMHS Health to post where I can go.....

Decisions decisions....

My hubby helped me to get our garden in - the one that comes up with the veggies. He's also helped me to pick up honeysuckle vines and is waiting for an opportune moment to plant the dahlias that my son, daughter-in-law and grandkids brought me. (The honeysuckle was planted about a month ago.) There's something about a plant that no longer comes up and the dahlia wanting to be in the same space that needs his attention....

*grin*

Of course, he's got his own "chores" to do, along with getting a bunch of trees out of the immediate garden spot. There was once a space that had no trees when we moved in, but that has gone hog wild with trees. The son, the daughter-in-law and the youngest child stopped by to help him with it on Saturday, so quite a lot of the "cutting down and hauling to the pit" has been done....and I have a very happy hubby.

Now it's my time to go through the bricks that we decided to haul out of the back yard to replace all of the bricks that no longer exist in the front walkway and use the extra to make the bleeding hearts stay in their spot.....

This may take a while.....

*grin*

Facebook leads to Aphasia relief.....

This past week, I mentioned Aphasia in a post on Facebook.

Someone from the Aphasia Center of Maine got in touch with me. (https://www.aphasiacenterofmaine.org)

I FINALLY have someone who knows what I'm talking about!!!

My husband blames the aphasia for "not getting better". He was led to believe that aphasia wasn't going to be a part of my life, that it was going to "get better". I believe this came from the neurologist who was insisting that I WASN'T going to "lose [your] hair" and who refused to believe otherwise.

He was a very good doctor at getting me through the surgeries, but he wasn't very good at the non-surgery meaning of cancer. He was insisting that "everything will go back to normal once the radiation and chemotherapy gets done".

RIGHT!

That's why I can't control my words after noon-time.

That's why my husband looks at me when I can't pronounce "neutral" - or "they're" (pronounced "they are" when I can't make him understand) - or any of the other things I try to say that comes out like Daffy Duck trying to do Elmer Fudd - on helium, at times.

I can believe the neurologist who took over the chemotherapy and onward saying that "it's going to be a LONG time before [you] can speak right again" - if at all.

I can put films from others who have suffered four years (or more) with no real relief.

And I can feel better about my own difficulty, because I'm a novice at this and don't have the difficulties that many others have, some are unable to operate as they used to because they had a stroke.

I have been blessed, no matter what my difficulties are, and I feel fine!

Blessed be.

Almost two years already....

On June 24, I pass the "emergency run" from Nesowadnehunk Lake to the Millinocket Hospital.

We finally got the final bills paid off.

We can see the trees instead of just the woods now.

We actually have our bank actually courting us for a deal on what we owe them instead of suggesting another bank.

But I'm still suffering aphasia, which means that, after about noon, I can't function properly with my words - at least, the spoken ones. I can write like no ones business, but that doesn't help when one is around someone who doesn't want to read and insists that I get over it.

So, this morning, I got into the internet to see who has anything that Cancer Survivors can do...

And was disappointed by fact that, no matter who is meeting with Cancer Survivors, they do it at 5, or 6-8, or........

In other words, nothing that will help because it's all in the evenings, when aphasia is rampant and nobody wants to read what I have for them.

*sigh*

Does MOCA still exist?

When I first started tracing my family tree, I could often find things in the Maine Old Cemetery Association's books about things like which cemetery my great-grandmother was in. (East Vassalboro Methodist Cemetery as "Susan L. Jones", thank you very much, MOCA.) But where are they now?

I wanted to try to join them as a volunteer, but nobody answers their email. I can join for $7, but what am I "joining"?

What if I send them my $7 and never hear from them again?

(I know - too many emails about "What NOT to give out" if you don't want to find yourself battling people who use your info to "get credit".....lol)

In the meantime, I go by cemeteries ALL THE TIME that I wonder if they've already got that in their database.....

Maybe I should just pay my money and see where that takes me. I mean, I've got Ancestry.com doing a DNA thing for my mom (which involved getting her an email when she doesn't even have a computer and making her sign up for an Ancestry account that she's never going to see....but that's the "rule" if you've already got YOUR DNA and want to check the one adult who contributed to that DNA through their site), so what is $7 for a year going to MOCA shouldn't hurt - much - provided they don't sell my info to anyone else......

*crossing my fingers and toes*

UPDATE AUGUST 2:

MOCA does exist, it DID take my money - eventually (despite having to "track my check" until it was cashed...lol), and I have my mission, if I ever have a day that I'm NOT having to garden. (Weeds, weeds, weeds - they even follow me in sleep......lol)

Next year, I'm joining again and will - hopefully - bring them new grave sites to add.
